Alberta has published a busy set of Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) draw results covering February 6 to February 19, 2026. These invitations matter because an AAIP invitation is often the first step toward a provincial nomination — but it is not permanent residence by itself.
The AAIP draw results show Alberta targeting rural candidates, tech workers, law enforcement recruits, and priority sector occupations during this period.

AAIP’s official draw table lists six draws in this window, with four draws showing exact invitation numbers (total 441) and two draws shown as “Less than 10” each.

2026 nomination spaces and AAIP priorities
On its processing page (last updated February 19, 2026), AAIP reports the following 2026 totals:
-
Nomination allocation: 6,403
-
Nominations issued: 612
-
Spaces remaining: 5,791

Applications to be processed: 1,032
AAIP also says its 2026 focus includes key sectors such as health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, and designated rural communities.
Rural Renewal Stream: key rules people miss in 2026
Alberta confirmed changes effective January 1, 2026 for the Rural Renewal Stream, including:
-
endorsement allocation limits for each designated community
-
Endorsement of Candidate letters valid for one year
-
a TEER-based endorsement model
-
in-Canada applicants must have a valid work permit at application and assessment
Internal guidance: If you are in Canada and planning Rural Renewal, check your work permit validity before you rely on an endorsement letter or an invitation.
Alberta Express Entry Stream: what AAIP targets
AAIP explains that Express Entry candidates may be invited if they have (for example):
-
a health care job offer under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway
-
a tech job offer under the Accelerated Tech Pathway
-
a job offer under the Law Enforcement Pathway
-
experience that supports labour needs in key sectors
If you are trying to stay eligible, AAIP also notes that Alberta Express Entry Stream candidates must keep their NOC information updated in their Express Entry profile.
FAQs
Are AAIP draws scheduled?
No. AAIP says draws are not regularly scheduled and are done as needed.
What does “minimum score” mean here?
It is the minimum score among invited candidates for that draw, but AAIP says the score is not the only factor used.
Can I apply to Rural Renewal from outside Canada?
Yes, Alberta states Rural Renewal applicants can be temporary workers in Canada with a valid work permit or individuals not in Canada, as long as they meet the stream rules (including community endorsement).
Does an AAIP invitation mean PR is approved?
No. An AAIP invitation is a provincial step. After nomination, you still apply to the federal government for permanent residence and must meet all requirements.
Reality check
-
A higher number of invitations does not mean faster PR for everyone. You still need to qualify under the stream, submit a complete application, and pass checks.
-
AAIP rules and priorities can change “without notice,” so it’s smart to confirm the latest official pages before making plans.
