Archived / Closed Programs includes Canadian immigration programs, pilots, or provincial streams that are closed and not accepting new applications.

This section is for:

  • People searching old programs they heard about online

  • Applicants who applied before a program closed and want official status updates

  • Readers comparing “what existed before” vs. current options

Important notes:

  • A program being “closed” usually means you cannot submit a new application, but governments may still process applications submitted before the closing date.

  • Example: the TR to PR pathway closed on November 5, 2021.

  • Example: the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) ended on August 31, 2024.

  • Provinces can also publish reference pages for expired streams, like Alberta AAIP.

Before making any decision, check the current list of permanent residence options on IRCC and your province’s official program pages.
