Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker – 2025 Guide

The Express Entry Skilled Worker stream is part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP). It is designed for individuals who are already in the federal Express Entry pool and have a valid job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador. This stream offers a faster pathway to permanent residency for skilled professionals who meet provincial and federal eligibility requirements.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this stream, you must meet both federal Express Entry requirements and provincial criteria:

1. Express Entry Profile

You must have an active Express Entry profile with a valid Express Entry Number and Job Seeker Code

2. Job Offer

A full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible Newfoundland and Labrador employer

3. Work Experience

At least one year of work experience related to the job offer

4. Work Experience

At least one year of full-time work experience in a relevant field.

5.Education

A post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate

6. Language Skills

Meet minimum CLB 7 for Federal Skilled Worker or CLB 5 for Canadian Experience Class

7. Intent to Reside

Demonstrate genuine intent to live and work in Newfoundland and Labrador

8. Settlement Funds

Sufficient funds to support yourself and your family (if applicable), as required by IRCC

How Does the Application Process Work?

The application process for the Atlantic Immigration Program is straightforward

1. Create an Express Entry Profile

Ensure you are eligible for one of the three federal programs and receive your Express Entry Number and Job Seeker Validation Code.

2. Get a Job Offer

Secure a permanent, full-time offer from a qualified employer in Newfoundland and Labrador.

3. Prepare Your Documents

  • Language test results (IELTS/CELPIP)
  • Resume
  • Job offer letter
  • Settlement funds proof

4. Apply to NLPNP

Submit your application through the NLPNP portal under the Express Entry Skilled Worker stream.

5. Receive a Provincial Nomination

If approved, you’ll get a nomination which adds 600 points to your Express Entry CRS score.

6. Apply for PR via IRCC

Submit your permanent residence application through the Express Entry system with your nomination.
