Updated July 2026. Nova Scotia Graduate is one of the province’s four current Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) streams, for international graduates of a recognized post-secondary institution who want to stay and work in Nova Scotia.
Who It’s For
This stream targets recent graduates — typically from a Nova Scotia institution or, in some cases, from another recognized Canadian institution — who have a genuine job offer in the province matching their education and skills.
Key Requirements
- A completed post-secondary credential from a recognized institution
- A genuine, full-time job offer from a Nova Scotia employer
- The job offer generally needs to align with your field of study or demonstrated skills
- Valid temporary status in Canada (such as a post-graduation work permit) while your application is processed
2026 Update: 12-Month EOI Validity
As of May 1, 2026, Expressions of Interest submitted under any NSNP stream — including Graduate — remain valid for 12 months. If you haven’t been invited within that window, you’ll need to submit a fresh EOI.
How to Apply
- Submit an Expression of Interest to the NSNP
- If selected, you’ll be invited to submit a full application
- Provide proof of your credential, job offer, and current immigration status
- If nominated, apply to IRCC for permanent residence — the nomination adds 600 CRS points if you’re in the federal Express Entry pool
