3 New CRA Benefit Payments For Ontario Residents In December 2025

Updated July 2026. Ontario residents received three CRA-administered benefit payments in December 2025. Here’s the full schedule and what each one was worth.

1. Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) — December 10

The OTB combines three provincial credits into a single monthly deposit delivered through the CRA: the Ontario Sales Tax Credit (offsetting the 13% HST on essential purchases), the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (helping renters and homeowners with property tax and energy costs), and the Northern Ontario Energy Credit (extra relief for households facing high heating bills in Northern Ontario). The December installment landed on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, generally in the $150-$175 range for eligible households, depending on income and family size.

2. Canada Child Benefit (CCB) — December 19

Families with children under 18 received their monthly CCB deposit on December 19, 2025. For the 2025-26 benefit year, the maximum annual amount works out to roughly $2,457.48 per eligible child for families entitled to the maximum benefit, with the exact monthly amount depending on your adjusted family net income and the number and ages of your children.

3. CPP and OAS — December 18

Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security payments were deposited on December 18, 2025, following the usual schedule of payments near the end of each month.

What a Typical Household Received

A family entitled to the maximum CCB and OTB could see combined December payments of around $2,600 — roughly $2,457 through CCB and $150-$175 through OTB, plus CPP/OAS if applicable.

If You Didn’t Get a Payment

Direct deposit recipients typically see these land on the exact date; cheque recipients should allow extra mailing time, especially during the December holiday rush. If a payment is missing, check that your most recent tax return has been filed and assessed, and confirm your direct deposit details are current in your CRA My Account.
