What happens with Christmas and Boxing Day in 2027?
Both fall on the weekend. Most employment standards give a substitute day off, usually the next working day, so many people are off on Monday, December 27 and Tuesday, December 28.
The exact rule depends on your province and your contract or collective agreement. Banks and payment systems also close on the substitute days, so plan rent and transfers before December 24.
