What do I need before the points count?

You need at least one year of continuous full-time (or equal part-time) paid work in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation in the last 10 years, CLB 7 in all four abilities, and an education credential, assessed by an ECA if it is from outside Canada.

  • Work must be in one occupation, matching the duties in its NOC description.
  • Foreign education counts only with an Educational Credential Assessment.
  • You must show proof of funds unless you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer.

What can I do if I score below 67?

Improve your language results first: moving from CLB 7 to CLB 9 in all four abilities adds 8 points. Get every credential assessed, and check other programs that do not use this grid.

  • Two credentials, one of them 3+ years, score higher than a single degree (22 vs 21).
  • A second official language at CLB 5+ adds 4 points.
  • The Canadian Experience Class and provincial programs have their own requirements.

Is the FSW 67-point score the same as the CRS score?

No. The 67-point grid only decides whether you can enter the Express Entry pool through FSW. Once you are in the pool, you are ranked by your CRS score out of 1,200.

Next, estimate your ranking with the CRS calculator and compare it with recent Express Entry draws.

This calculator follows IRCC’s published Federal Skilled Worker selection factors. It is an estimate, not an eligibility decision. Canadianow is not affiliated with IRCC.
