Which immigration tool should I use first?
Start with the CLB converter and NOC code finder, because your language level and occupation decide which programs you qualify for. Then calculate your CRS score and compare it with recent draw cut-offs.

What is the order of steps to get PR through Express Entry?
Check eligibility, take an approved language test, get your foreign education assessed, create a profile, wait for an invitation in a draw, then submit your PR application.
- Eligibility: FSW 67 points or 1,560 CEC hours, in TEER 0 to 3 work.
- Score: your CRS score ranks you against other candidates in the pool.
- Invitation: IRCC holds rounds by program or category; your score must meet the cut-off of a draw you qualify for.
- After you land: count your days with the days in Canada calculator for citizenship and the PR residency rule.
How do I avoid losing my status while I wait?
Apply to extend before your permit expires so you keep maintained status, and track every expiry date in one place, including your passport, SIN and health card.
The status expiry timeline shows how your permit, passport, SIN and health card dates interact, and the 90-day restoration window if a date is missed. Processing times for extensions change monthly: check them before you plan travel.
