How to prepare

A study method that works for both tests

  1. 1Read the official guide

Every question comes from one book: Discover Canada for citizenship, the MTO Driver’s Handbook for the G1. Our notes summarize each part.

  2. 2Practise one part at a time

Take the quiz for each chapter or section and retake any where you score under 80%.

  3. 3Simulate the real test

When every part feels solid, take full simulations until you pass comfortably twice in a row.

Questions

Practice tests FAQ

Are these practice tests free?
Yes. Every practice test, quiz and simulation on Canadianow is free and works without an account.
Are these the official tests?
No. They are independent practice tests in the same format as the real ones. The citizenship questions are written from Discover Canada, the official IRCC study guide, and the G1 questions from the Official MTO Driver’s Handbook.
How many questions are on the real citizenship test?
The Canadian citizenship test has 20 multiple-choice or true or false questions, and you need 15 correct answers to pass. You have 45 minutes.
How many questions are on the Ontario G1 test?
The G1 knowledge test has 40 multiple-choice questions: 20 on road signs and 20 on the rules of the road. You need at least 16 correct in each section.
Do I get different questions every time?
Yes. Both full simulations draw new random questions on every attempt, so you can retake them as often as you like.

Canadianow is independent and not affiliated with IRCC, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation or DriveTest. Use the official guides as your primary study resource.
